The reliability of the enclosures is a separate issue from that of the hard drives; I had one enclose from OWC that lost both the power supply and the fan, but the hard drive was intact. It is good practice to enquire of the resellers which drive they are bundling with their enclosures. The former includes Seagate, WD/Hitachi, and Toshiba, while the latter includes LaCie and OWC. My switch to iMac has gone really smoothly, with the Migration assistant doing a great job. But connecting the printer did not automatically produce any wizard for installation. In the general list of drivers there´s only one for HPLaserjet, and it seemed to be accepted.
When printing a page, though, I am informed that the text cannot be sent from the machine to the printer, and that´s as far as I get. HP´s home pages do not offer any alternative drives as far as I can see.
My printer is a few years old, but functions perfectly, and I find it difficult to believe that should´t continue to work for me..

Hp Laserjet 1000 Driver Win7

I have a rather old HP LaserJet 1000 which I have been using with Windows XP up until recently. I switched to a MacBook Pro that runs Snow Leopard. However when I hooked up the printer via its USB interface I wasn't able to see it as an available printer. After doing some digging I find that it may not be one of the supported printers in Snow Leopard. HP was not very helpful either. I don't have MacOS listed in their support page for that printer.
My question is: has anyone been able to use the same printer with Snow Leopard?
